Although the County Treasurer does not affect the valuation of homes nor the calculation of taxes, Michael McNamara has been working with Butler County's officeholders and state legislators to achieve a fair system of taxation that does not make it oppressive to live. McNamara also wants to make sure that those who do not have a voice have one. That includes the unborn - individuals are defined at the moment of conception with their own unique DNA, and they should be guaranteed the same rights that all other individuals are guaranteed - Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

While maintaining safety of Butler County's funds, McNamara invests to maximize Butler County's yield on its investments as well as a healthy liquidity. Under McNamara, the Butler County Treasurer's office is launching a financial literacy effort aimed at school-aged children, young adults and those entering the workforce.
